“Part of the problem is exaggerated degree credit requirements whose only purpose is to make money for the schools and teachers. Look up the time you need to be in school to be a lawyer, dentist, doctor in Bulgaria vs. the US. While you're at it, compare the cost of higher education in Bulgaria vs. the US.

I was hoping they both existed and we would get first row seats to the battle royale on December 21st, 2012!Two gods enter. One god leaves..
The Wire could have done with a dog-chokeslammin' storyline.(though there was that dog fighting bit..)!

Fools, all of you. Don't you realize that if low budget movies, made with actors and directors who haven't proven themselves able to bring in 30 to 150 million dollars on opening weekend, can be made and get a decent level of distribution it will end hollywood as we know it? If a flood of actors with more talent and ability than tom cruise or nicolas cage suddenly get nationwide exposure, then established actors like those mentioned might not be able to get millions of dollars per movie. We might even reach a point where so many movies are known to the general public that they won't have time to watch even a tenth of those movies. Then what would happen? Chaos on a scale you can't even imagine. If too many movies are made and they all get fairly wide distribution and the general public is aware of them, then people might only watch the good ones; hollywood can't survive if that happens.?
Maybe he did, and he shot it! |

I always thought Conan was a shoe in for his diplomatic abilities while I have to say if I could nominate someone to win the Nobel Peace Prize it would have to be Doc Oc.

No, H1N1 is not just the flu - it is a variety of flu that does a lot more damage in middle aged people than the normal flu - ie. the majority of the workforce.

Reagan in 1975: If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is. Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path. |
