OTOH, why is it that even when a different party wins - even after he says stuff like "change", "end wars", "close gitmo", "open government" - the same wars continue, the rich get richer, and the same broken policies dominate the government?I think the current democrats's lack of ability to get much substantial done is pretty convincing proof that a handful of bankers and defense contractors do seem to control the government and the elected party is more of a figurehead than a leader.

What are you talking about? The only person to die in any of the previous games was Tellah in FF4. Unless you are talking about NPCs like General Leo in FF6, then that's a different story all together.

Too bad. I'm about 40 hours in on my first character and barely even scratching the surface of such a rich and fascinating RPG. The side-characters and quests are more fleshed out than any previous Bioware RPG.
