I would bet the increased sales are from impressionable XP users itching for a contemporary OS. People who listened to other people trashing on Vista who didn't know WTF they were talking about. Most people who were regular users of Vista liked it just fine, myself included.That said, I still upgraded to Win 7 when it came out. Not out of a dislike of Vista, just because Win 7 was simply better, just like I liked Vista better than XP before it, and 98 before that.

I had sex ed in primary school, but it was more about biology than anything else. I didn't learn what a condom was, or that the word "abstinence" existed. It was about what a man and a woman looked like if you cut them in half with a chainsaw. Then, if you took a single sperm cell and a single egg under a microscope.Sex ed really shouldn't go by that name until there's an artificial penis and a condom. At that point, parents of boys can "opt-out" of learning what girls look like.!

liked the article (except the slashdot part and the part where they refer to the actor in the Intel commercial as the real inventor of USB) but I'm tempted to bury this article because of the dragon age ad. Ever since they started coming up (actually, since the WTWTA audio ads) I've been browsing other social news sites more and more. The content here is still my favorite, but rest assured, if this continues, I will leave this site once I find a suitable alternative. |

I imagine it's related to how people often describe the actions of their character in the first person. For instance, "I came around the corner and ran right into a zombie." Did you do it or your character? Well, both, really. Since you were controlling the character. Plus it's easier to describe in the first person than repeatedly using third person to describe what your character did when they only did it because you directed them to.

Back in the 1980's Bulgaria had one of the top school systems around. This was partly due to the socialist state of the country. It wasn't communist like Russia (rather far from that) but wasn't really capitalist either. It was just Socialist, and things were good. Education there is with out a doubt much better then what we have here.Even now, when Bulgaria is declining, education is still above that in America. In middle school, learning a second language is mandatory. English is practically a requirement. What college students are being taught here, now, is being taught at a high school level in Bulgaria. USA really needs to step up its education.
